In light of the consumer protection law (NYS GBS §518) passed by the New York State legislature which becomes effective February 11, 2024, the NYSSA has made a minor adjustment to the cost of memberships paid using the Square online application. The law requires that the seller disclose the exact fee charged a consumer and mandates that this fee cannot be exceeded when passed on to the consumer.
